Hello Support.

I have several charts where I can not open a trade window or attach a trade window for the chart.

Getting this message in the log. Error creating the Trade Window. *

I have tried resetting the child windows and that did not work.
Go to that chart and select Chart >> Reset Child Windows.

Any idea of how to fix this?
It is on the NQ charts. Symbol:NQU4.CME

Thank You

This is a Windows resource issue. Reduce the amount of Trade Windows and other windows you have open within an instance of Sierra Chart.

Or use a sub instance of Sierra Chart:
File Menu: New Instance (File)
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

Hello again,
I am running 4 instances.
And the problem was in a sub instance.
I will remove as many trade windows as possible.

Is it best to only trade from the main instance?

Is it best to only have trade windows, chart trading, trading DOMS , in the main instance only?

Is this the most efficient and accurate way to place trades?

Or what number should the trade windows , chart trading & DOMs be limited to?

Should chart trading NOT be enabled on every chart? But , still have orders and positions showing on the charts?

Thank You for you help.

Well something is definitely wrong with the # 2 NQ sub instance .

NONE of the commands from the File menu are working.

File > New Intraday Chart NOT WORKING

File > New Historical Chart NOT WORKING

File > Open Chartbook NOT WORKING

Right Clicking on chart will not bring up any sub menu choices or studies. And this is on some of the still working charts....

I now have several blank chart books, and when I try and close them they will not close using File > Close Chartbook, nothing happens still just have blank open chart books , at least 4 of these, I believe that these were the charts I was attempting to add a trade window to.

Trying these commands just locked up That Instance and it crashed.... closing that instance but leaving 3 others running.

As the error message you post states - this is a Windows issue in that the system ran out of resources.

We can not give any specific information on how many instances/windows/etc. you should have open. It all depends on your system and the Windows Operating System. Also, rebooting your system occasionally, will help Windows with cleaning up resources.

If you are running Sierra Chart in an emulator environment (such as on a MAC or Linux) then you will have to look into how those emulators deal with resources. This is well beyond the scope of our support.

I did remove the chart books from the general settings / open on start up for the instance.
And removed extra trade windows and it looks like it is functioning normal.

Correct it is & was a Windows Issue

Thank You
