In a chartbook that hold multiple charts I am having issue with one chart data loading of a date range. the chart is a daily chart that is marked as intraday, every time I open a different symbol in that chart I get a random range selection of dates, sometimes just a few months to current and sometimes a few years to current or even to a random date that is not current. I am trying to set it so the range is always the same. for example 1.1.2020 - current for all symbols opened in that chart. the options in chart settings / data limiting always come back to a random date when I change symbols. how can I fix this issue? thank you in advance? |

If you are wanting to always have data for a symbol starting from January 1, 2020, then you need to make sure that you have set the system to download enough historical data when you first want to get data for a symbol. To do this, set the options for "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download" (Non-Tick Data and/or 1-Tick Data) to be at least the number of days you want to load. For 5 years of data, you would need to set this to 1825 (5 x 365 = 1825). But, doing this will mean that it will take a long time to initially download the data for a new symbol. So you will have to wait for the data to download. And you will also then want to set the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Load Data Limiting Method" to "Use Date Range". And then set the "Date Range From" to the starting date you want for your charts to start from (in this case January 1, 2020). Also, this will not apply to symbols for which you have already downloaded some data. How you handle these depends on what kind of data you are using. If these are futures with limited contracts, then you need to set the chart to be a Continuous Futures Contract. Refer to the following: Continuous Futures Contract Charts If this is an equity that does not have a limited lifespan, then you would need to set the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Date Range in File From" to be at least the start of where you want the chart data, such as 2020-01-01.
