Ever since I enabled chat window to get notifications for trade alerts, my Sierra Chart crashes when I close the application. I am using the latest version of Sierra Chart as of 11 Jul 2024.
If I disable Chat Window, then the applications doesn't crash on close.
I have attached a picture of the crash message.

We want you to exit from Sierra Chart and rename this folder in the Sierra Chart installation folder
ChatDataHistory

to: ChatDataHistory_Backup

See if the problem continues. If it resolves the problem we would want to get this backup folder to test.

Renaming did not resolve the issue.
However, I am still uploading the backup folder incase you need to test.

Also, is it possible to change the Port number to something that we can access at work? The console logs in, but connection stays disconnected.

We can probably add support for another port number. Would it need to be below 1000?

We need to determine a way to troubleshoot the problem with the abnormal shut down.

Create an alert for when server is disconnected and another alert for when server is connected...then after you startup sierra chart, shut it down with the cross on the top right.... the chat window will stay open for a couple seconds and then you get a crash message.

Regarding port number, all non-public ports are blocked by the IT admins at work. Can we use a regular port like 80?

We will solve this:
Create an alert for when server is disconnected and another alert for when server is connected...then after you startup sierra chart, shut it down with the cross on the top right.... the chat window will stay open for a couple seconds and then you get a crash message.

We cannot use port 80.
