Sometimes I will have long standing client side MIT orders in place which I leave unattended and then head to the office where I don't look at the markets all day. TWS will do it's daily forced shutdown, so the client side order fills are disconnected from TWS which I am aware is a weakness of doing the above and is fine for me. On occasion I will leave these orders resting for a long time, the markets will blow past my client side MIT order outside RTH while IB is still disconnected. Then I can't cancel it when I finally get home while I am still disconnected so that it doesn't fill. However the moment I reconnect TWS they will instantly fill, so I try to cancel the order and it will not let me cancel it. The only work around is to either a. stay disconnected or b. turn on trade sim mode until the price is back in a circumstance where I want to fill the order. Cancelling does not work while it is disconnected. Last example would have been over a month ago. I was trying to find the example of it in the trade activity log but can't find it. I had also edited and added certain records to force corrections to position data. I can provide this log if it is needed, however like I said I did edit some records in it both to try and force order cancellation as well as to correct position sizes and certain fill prices. We understand. We are working on a solution now. Solution will be out today. Another thing you can do, is exit from Sierra Chart and delete the TradeOrdersList.data file. This will clear out all of the orders. That is safe to do. So long as you do not have any working Attached Orders because those will be removed, assuming they are not working. If they are working the association with their sibling will be removed. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
