Goto Chart from Alert Manager not going to current time

When I use the Goto Chart functionality after an alert is triggered in the Alert Manager, I notice while it does bring the chart to the foreground, it seems to show some time in the past that doesn't seem relevant to the alert or current time. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. But ideally I would imagine the desired behavior is that the chart would be scrolled all the way to the current time, or even the time the alert triggered.

Is there a reason I'm not seeing this happening? Currently it just seems to open the chart but to some time in the past.

Thanks in advance.

Alerts Manager: Go To Chart

Based on this i understand it's supposed to scroll to the time when the alert triggered, but I don't think this is happening. And ideally I would not need to do the next step of pressing "end" to scroll to the end of the chart. I was hoping this would happen automatically since usually I'm trying to look at the trigger as soon as it alerts.

the chart the alert originated from will be scrolled to the Date-Time the Alert Condition became TRUE at. The chart will be scrolled so that the last bar is at that particular Date-Time.

This does not happen for me.

To go to the end of the chart, press the End key

I can do this to compensate. However it's good to note that if you enable Edit >> Close Window when Goto Chart this helps to put the chart that the alert came from in focus so that the "end" key works more seamlessly.

The issue with the chart not scrolling to the exact Date-Time in the chart is resolved in the latest release. It was interpreting the time as if it was UTC.

I noticed another related issue today. If I have multiple chartbooks open, when i click on the alert in alert manager to "goto chart" it doesn't always go to the right chartbook the alert fired from. But a second double click will then go to the correct chartbook/chart. If you continue to double click on the same alert row, it will just cycle between two charts in different chartbooks

I may not be describing the behavior correctly but there is definitely something off and inconsistent about the goto chart functionality of alert manager

Also part of the behavior I noticed is that sometimes a new alert will trigger but the alert manager window doesn’t seem to show it at the top and I need to manually scroll up. My window is set to only display a few alerts at a time

This is still happening. I choose a row (the top one displayed in the alert manager) and I double click it. It opens a chartbook and chart to the foreground often the wrong one. I double click the same row again, and it will open up the right chartbook and chart. I can keep double clicking and it will keep toggling back and forth between correct and incorrect chartbook/chart.

We looked into this and definitely could not identify any issue. We definitely do not believe there is a problem. We do not understand what the scenario is in your case.

But may be the issue is you have the alert lines in a reverse order? Where the most recent is at the top.

I have the alerts with the latest one on top. I'm sure I'm clicking on the top most line and I can definitely see it flipping between chartbooks even thought I'm double clicking on the same line. It does not do it all the time.

I have a bout 10 chartbooks open with alerts on each. I'm using the alert manager's goto chart feature to bring the appropriate chart up quickly when the alert fires.

It is happening right now if you want to see...

Would a screen recording of the behavior help?

Later today we will have a new release which includes the name of the Chartbook in the source field in the Alerts Log. We need more information to understand the issue because we are not seeing any problem at all.
