Additional chart DOM order types possible?

I'm hoping to be able to use the triggered-limit order type with the chart DOM, either now or in some future update... I use the chart DOM to enter positions, specifically with the Stop-Limit order type. I use zero offset in the trade window for primary orders, so my stop price and limit price are identical. This functionality works perfectly for me. However, there are some situations where I'd like to use the Triggered-Limit order type so that I may have different trigger and limit prices (buy limit a few ticks lower than the trigger, sell limit a few ticks higher, attempting for a better entry price). I've found the only way to use this order type is using the chart trade menu. This isn't ideal as it requires multiple steps - right click away from the current price level, select triggered limit, then modify the order on the chart by dragging it into place. Once in place it works as intended, my issue is with the ease of entry where speed is critical. So my question is this: Would it be possible to use the triggered-limit order type with the chart DOM somehow, possibly with a keyboard modifier? So pressing the modifier key would change the order from stop-limit to triggered-limit, with the trigger price (instead of the stop price) at that cursor location. That's just one idea, maybe a different DOM column specifically for different order types? As mentioned, using the chart trade menu method works. I'm just looking for a way to save some keystrokes/mouse action. Speed and accuracy is the reason I love using the chart DOM in the first place, it would be great to have more order type options using this method. Thanks, suggestions welcome. |

The best available is a "Buy/Sell Limit if Touched - Client" option for the Trade DOM entry options. So you could set this to be your right-click option and the "Stop-Limit" can be your left-click option (or vice versa - depending on how you have it setup now). Refer to the following: Global Trade Settings Windows: Order Types (Global Settings >> Chart DOM Settings) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
