Sierra Chart Closing Down During Replay

Hi

My charts keep closing down during replay mode. This is highly frustrating as it is preventing me from back testing. When the problem occurs, there is no freezing or error messages, the entire program simply closes.

I have so far tried the following fixes without success ...

1. Run in safe mode ... no difference (this rules out an issue with custom studies)
2. Replace and upgrade RAM from 32Gb to 64Gb ... no difference (this rules out faulty RAM)
3. Reinstall Sierra Chart ... no difference (this rules out corrupt files)
4. Install on and run from two different SSDs ... no difference (this rules out faulty hard drives)

Short of replacing my CPU (currently i7 12700K) which will be very expensive, I am not sure what to try next.

Any suggestions on a solution much appreciated.

Thank you

EDIT: The crashing appears to be triggered by the Trading System Based on Alert Condition Study. When I replay my charts without this activating they run fine. Any idea how I can fix this?

Thanks

What this indicates is a stack corruption.

We are thinking about this. Based on everything we know and you have said we do not think it is a hardware problem.

We know a problem like this will never be reproducible by us.

We are thinking about how to troubleshoot it. Try updating to the latest prerelease and see if the problem occurs with that version. But that does not mean the problem is resolved. It just means that it is being avoided.

Thank you, for your response. I will try the prerelease as suggested and report back.

Also, the same crash occurred yesterday when not in replay mode, so it is not isolated to replays as I first thought.

Do you think programming my system in ASCIL will help as opposed to using the Trading System Based on Alert Condition Study?

I have some experience coding in Python but not C++. I'd be happy to learn ASCIL if it fixes the problem, but it'd be rather frustrating to go through that lengthy process only to find that the problem remains.

We are looking into the crash issue. Another user is reporting it. So we should be able to figure this out.

Come back to us in a few days. But based upon what we are seeing, we are not very encouraged we can determine what the problem is. We are never ever able to reproduce issues like this. And we believe the issue is external to Sierra Chart. Why it occurs with trading we are not totally sure but have an idea related to the size of stack space and functions. We may have a workaround which at the very least can avoid the problem.
