Greetings SC support, I have a question regarding the steps to closing out an open position. For example, say I have entered a long position for 1 MES futures contract at 5320.25 with a take-profit at 5325.25 and a stop loss at 5317.25. Suppose the price runs up to 5322.50 and I wish to exit there and then, what do I click? I tried clicking flatten but it cancels every working order once I do that. As such, I would like to know what I should do if I want to exit a position early. Thanks |

The "Flatten" button on the Trade Window is the right thing to do. It will perform a "Flatten and Cancel" where it flattens the current open position by sending an opposing market order and then cancels the working orders. There are other ways to access the "Flatten and Cancel" functionality, including Keyboard shortcuts and control bar buttons. Refer to the following: Control Bar Global Settings Menu: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts (Global Settings menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
