[User Discussion] - weekly H/L EXTENDED ?????

Hello
I would like to extend the weekly highs and lows in the chart BUT to the right until these levels have been dealt with by the price. Because open weekly H/L are important levels. I can't find a study where I can draw this. The only option I have found is Volume by Price where I can simulate this. How can I do this? Why isn't there such an important study?
Thanks.

Hello
I made the settings as described in the Sierra Chart instructions (see the image on the right). I want to draw the weekly high and the line should end when the price crosses the line. But that doesn't work. What's wrong?

Our apologies, the "Based On" documentation was not correct. We have updated it.

The "Based On" should be set to "<Main Price Graph>" in order to stop the extension lines at a future price bar.

Hello
There is a problem. If I do it as described in these instructions, the "Color Bar Based On Alert Condition" needs 1400-1700 seconds to calculate in a chart with a 70-day history. That is also clear because with 70 days I have to set 100,000 candles for the "Color Bar Based On Alert Condition" to calculate in a 200 tick chart. And if I do that for the daily and weekly highs, the chart becomes very slow.

If I draw the weekly and daily highs and lows with the Volume By Price and set the Value Area to 100% instead of 70%, it works but the calculation only takes 13 seconds. Is there no other solution than using "Color Bar Based On Alert Condition"?
I am surprised that there is no study for this drawing in the software.

There is no other solution, other than creating a custom study to do what you want.

The reason the calculation is taking so long is the number of candles over which you are performing the calculation.

Thanks John. Yes, that's right. I do it with VbP, 13ms is okay.
The time I specified was wrong. I didn't mean seconds, but 1400-1700 ms and 13 ms.
