Hi Support,

I would like to change my 'Intraday Data Storage Time Unit' away from 1 tick for performance reasons, but every time I change it to '1 Second' (for example), and click 'Edit > Delete All Data and Download' the setting reverts back to '1 Tick'.

I have one Number Bars study in my chart book, and have the setting 'Require 1 Tick Intraday Data Storage Time Unit' set to 'No'.

I have also ensured that I do not have a Study Collection with Numbers Bars and this setting this set to 'Yes', as eluded to at the bottom of this board: Intraday Data Storage Time Unit keeps reverting to 1 Tick

I cannot figure this out, could you advise please?

Many thanks,
Bill

It is only the Numbers Bars study which can automatically change the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit. So there must be a Numbers Bars study, among your open Chartbooks which is changing this. You have to look around among all of the charts and find it.

Thanks very much for confirming that only Numbers Bars can do this, I missed an old hidden chart in my chart book! Deleted that and all is working well now...

Could I please ask if changing the 'Intraday Data Storage Time Unit' from '1 Tick' to '1 Second' has any negative impact on the Numbers Bars, considering that it defaults to not let you change this?

Thanks,
Bill

Yes, using 1 Second definitely makes the Numbers Bars study less accurate.

However, using 1 Tick data is in some cases just to burdensome to be working with. It is a real problem. So perfectly acceptable to use 1 second.
