Hi, I have two questions about the Chart Drawing Properties dialog: (i) It seems that there exist two different variations of this dialog. Sometimes, when I right-click a chart drawing and select "Chart Drawing Properties" from the pop-up menu, dialog variation no. 1 opens (first screenshot), sometimes, dialog variation no. 2 opens (second screenshot). I couldn't figure out a pattern behind this behavior yet. It seems to be random. Do I overlook anything? Why are there two completely different dialogs for adjusting chart drawing properties, and how does Sierra Chart decide which of the two dialog variations to show? (ii) Could you please tell me how to specify the exact position (x/y coordinates) of a text element with dialog variation no. 2? I know how to do this with dialog variation no. 1, but unfortunately today Sierra Charts decides to only open dialog variation no. 2 when I open the Chart Drawing Properties for my text elements. |

1. Yes there are two versions and it depends upon the drawing type. We are in the process of replacing all of them with the new format. 2. On the Text Properties window select [Settings] at the top and then you can control the vertical and horizontal alignment of the text. 3. We do see some issues with the new Chart Drawing properties window, for a text drawing and we are resolving those today. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thanks for the quick reply! Just two short follow-up questions: - You wrote that the dialog version depends on the drawing type. However, I have some texts on my charts (to be more precise: a countdown timer and a realtime clock study) which I usually align accurately. I did so for all my charts by using the Chart Drawing Properties dialog. It was always version 1 (in my screenshots "Dialog Variation 1.png") that opened for these text elements. This dialog allowed me to accurately specify the coordinates in % as a distance from the top left corner. But yesterday I cloned one of my charts and had to re-position these text elements. Using the exact same approach that I used countless times before in all my other charts suddently brings up dialog version 2 (in my screenshots "Dialog Variation 2.png") instead of version 1. It's the same drawing type and I did not update Sierra Chart in the meantime. Therefore I'm still curious about this sudden change in behavior. - With regards to my two screenshots, may I ask which is the new and which is the old dialog format? I sincerely hope that version 1 ("Dialog Variation 1.png)" is the new format? |
