Before I go to bed, I've been leaving Sierra Chart open with the data feed disconnected. This is because on some mornings, I cannot trade in real-time, so when I get to my computer late, without any hint of where market has gone during RTH so far, I can hit replay and start the chartbook at the open so I can take simulated trades based on the criteria I'm currently working on. But on multiple occasions, and once again today, during the replay it skips all the way forward to real-time even though I haven't reached that point yet. Today I had a sim trade open at the time it skipped ahead to real-time. When it skipped ahead, that trade was closed out despite the stop not getting hit yet. The fill for the sim trade completely vanished as well. There was another fill in that area, but it was a short trade which I definitely didn't take when the replay was on. Same goes for my earlier closed-out sim trades during today's replay: the fills were no longer there. Instead, it shows multiple short trades that I did not take. I don't recognize any of the trades on the Trade Activity Log, nor does the view of 'Show Chart Fills' on my candlestick chart (with the arrows & connecting lines) make any sense to me because I didn't take those. I'm quite confused and not sure what's going on. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Some details to add... I'm using 'Calculate Same As Real Time' for my replay, on normal x1 speed. I often do numerous 20-30 second skips ahead in time when price isn't at an area of interest for me in order to save time rather than wait around. I don't do any rewinds once the replay has begun (at least not today). Just an occasional pause. I'm using 1 chartbook containing 7 chars, although I only enter the trades on 1 of the charts. The charts display the same symbol, NQ, while the trade symbol is for MNQ. Today, I got to my computer around 11:10AM EST which is when I clicked to start the replay to begin at the open of 9:30AM. While viewing the replay of the chart and it reached that same 11:10AM EST, that's when it proceeded to skip ahead to real time (around 11:45AM EST at this point) and discombobulated all of my fills for the day. The aligning of those times seems like it's not just a coincidence, right? How can I use replay so that this doesn't happen moving forward? The main goal is to avoid receiving any hint or spoiler about where the market has gone so far (hence leaving it disconnected). I also want to avoid what I experienced today where my fills seemingly get lost and randomized into different trades entirely. Thank you. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-06-03 16:38:40

You can not do what you are wanting to do. Our guess is that you are starting the replay before the data has downloaded, then the data gets downloaded, but the replay get messed out. You need to have the data in the chart prior to starting the replay. There is no other option on this. Once the data is present, then you can start the replay and you should not have an issue. The only suggestion we can make in terms of how not to view the data would be to set the "Chart >> Graph Draw Type" to "Blank" until the data is all downloaded and you start the replay. Then set it to what you want to view the data. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
