Hi,

Are the numbers bars Candle sticks calculated the same way a regular candlestick is calculated in SC? I have a study to highlight the Wicks and it works well on regular candlestick charts but its slightly off on the numbers bars charts.

Thanks

I am working on this for a client, I can re-enable my SC account if thats needed, but I have been writing the code and having them compile it.

If I need to re-enable my Sierra account for help please let me know.

Thanks

This really is a hard question for us to answer. We really would have to look into the code. It also depends upon the underlying market data and the symbol. Without any context, the question really is very hard for us to answer. There could potentially be differences.

And it is something we do not have the time to research. So effectively we do not have an answer here. Other than what we have said.

Alright, its for the ES emini and Denali data.

Based off the answer above it looks like it could be a potential issue, if its a potential issue are there any suggestions on how to mitigate this in the code?

Thanks

We would not expect any differences, for ES futures. So we need to see an image of the chart showing what you are referring to:
Support Board Posting Information: Attaching or Posting a Screenshot/Image (Optional)

And we also are not sure what exactly is displaying the candlesticks. All of this is quite unclear to us at this point in time. For example, is it this option displaying candlesticks with Numbers Bars:
Numbers Bars: Open and Close Marker Style

Hi,

Sorry yes it is the open close market style that is part of the number bars study. It is the Candle Stick Outline method.

Below is an image of the chart with the number bars and candle outlines.

This looks very straightforward. We would not expect there to be any differences. If you remove the Numbers Bars study, and set the Graph Draw Type to be candlesticks, do you then see a difference with some of the bars compared to the Candlestick with Numbers Bars ?
