Is there a way to avoid having to manually set certain symbol settings? I see there is a way to have a default using the ??? symbology. But I would like to do something more where I can predetermine certain settings like tick size and minimum mbo quantity based on criteria I'm looking at. I trade equities the universe of symbols that might be in play that day may not be known beforehand so I want to use some criteria to set these settings per symbol such that certain charts i've setup look correct and i don't have to go in and make a lot of changes on the fly. If this can also be programmed, I'd consider this option as well. Thanks |

This is not clear for us what you want to do. You can change Global Symbol Settings in Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. But those are not going to be applied to existing charts unless they are manually reapplied. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I would like to have a way to preset symbol settings for symbols I have not yet used without needing to go in and manually create a new entry. I understand from what you're saying that I may need to reload the chart, or even disconnect/reconnect from the feed for the changes to take effect. But I want to minimize how much work I have to do each time I want to trade a new symbol. For example, I would want all symbols >$100 in price, to set tick size = .05 Currently I have to manually go in and create an entry for this. Is there a way to do this programmatically? Alternatively is there a file where this info is stored and I can edit it separately so I avoid having to do it per symbol in the GUI. Thanks |

What you are wanting to do you would not do through the Symbol Settings. You would need to do this to the chart itself that is open for the symbol. And in order to do this, you would have to create a custom study that would do it for you and then have that study on the chart.
