I've read the doco on numbers bars. Still trying to figure out the difference between the coloring methods when "separate" is used. How does that affect the background coloring in general? I'm using Ask/Bid Volume Split Profile Based on Diagonal Dominant Side AskVol BidVol Percentage. If I use Based on Separate Diagonal AskVol BidVol Percentage noting seems to change. I'm trying to get to where the diagonal imbalance is not affected by anything but the diagonal quantities relationship. Thanks!

The "Split" profile options are meant to be used with the "Separate" coloring options. But given the particular items you chose, you will not see any differences between these options. They will give the exact same result. The reason there is an overlap is due to how the study developed over time, where the Split profiles were added later. I'm trying to get to where the diagonal imbalance is not affected by anything but the diagonal quantities relationship
We are not sure exactly what you are wanting here. Keep in mind that with the Diagonal relationship, each price level has two results - one that compares the Bid at the price against the Ask at the next higher price and the one that compares the Ask at the price against the Bid at the next lower price. If you can give us more information on what you are wanting to see, then we can point you to the setup you would need. Thanks John! As to where I'm trying to get to. I am seeing the width of the squares at price levels multiple ticks away from the last trade price changing as trades are executed. Is this because of the percentage aspect of the coloring on the Diagonal Dominant Side AskVol BidVol Percentage? If I don't want the size of squares changing unless trades are actually executed at that price level would I need to use the "actual" setting? So, does the "percentage" apply to the whole bar? When I color the text using the same background coloring method using percentage I don't seem to recall other numbers changing away from the current price. I hope this makes sense. :) Update - So I just realized the split profile does a volume profile for the bid and ask independently. That explains the changing square sizes? And the quantity values as text do not change of course. I think I have an understanding now. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-05-10 00:26:25

Sorry to bother but one last item. I have a column for text and a column for split profile. Enable diagonal zero bid/ask compares is set to no. The text column colors the zero compares within the bar excluding the ends whereas the split profile does not. Is this the intended behavior? Examples attached.

It is an "oversight" (ok a bug) where the way the zeros are handled is different for coloring the background versus coloring the text. Funny enough we were looking into fixing this recently, but have not had the time to finish the work. We will try to get back to this.
