Hello, I have a trading strategy and want to test it using simulated trading / back testing before I register to an exchange. However, I cannot turn Trade Simulation Mode on. Can you please tell me why? Also, it seems like there are two different types of simulated trading: Internal and external. Can you please tell me the difference? Thank you! |

This is correct, and it is the reason why you are having the issue you are. There is an internal "Simulation Mode" where everything is done on your local system. We also have a "Simulated Futures Trading Service" which is a server-based setup where you send your orders to our server and order matching is done there to produce a more realistic trading environment. When you are using the "Simulated Futures Trading Service", you are not able to turn on the internal "Simulation Mode" (except during a replay) as you are already using a simulation environment. You can use either option, it is your choice depending on your needs/wants. -- We want to point out that there are two different servers to connect to for the "Simulated Futures Trading Service" depending on whether you are using real-time or delayed data. From what we see, you should be using the Delayed option, since you are not setup for any real-time data from us. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
