Candlestick Bars

Hi Sierra,

I've noticed that "Candlestick Bars" Graph Draw Type always represent a
wick that does not match with the real High and Low of the Volume Bar.
If it is a Bullish Bar then the Low position of the "Candlestick Bar" is
lower than the real Volume Bar.
If it is a Bearish Bar then the High position of the "Candlestick Bar" is
higher than the real Volume Bar.
Is there any way to fix this and make the "Candlestick Bar" represent the
real High and Low positions of each Volume Bar?

Thank you.
Best Regards,

We need more information on what you are referring to, in particular what mean by a "real Volume Bar".

The candlesticks represent the actual high/low of a bar, depending on what your "Bar Period" is set to, or unless you are using a special study (such as Heikin-Ashi).

We really do not know what you are using or what you are comparing to.

Hi,

Can you please check the attached file "VWAP_Candlesticks_Wick_Issue_20240418.jpg" where I'm showing that in the left window where I'm using the Candlesticks bars with Volume, there are situations where the Wick is more than the real trades done during that moment.
Can you please clarify where is that behavior possibly configured or tell me how can remove that?
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Vitor Alves

Hi,

On the Window with name "VWAP" the size of the Candle's Wick is longer, than the real size shown on the "Footprint" window.
If you count the number of ticks on the "VWAP" Window is candle wick is different than the "Footprint".

Thank you.

Those are different charts and they are based upon volume per bar. So they may contain different data within the chart bars.

Hi,

I don't believe they contain different data within the each chart candle because they are created and they finish at exact same time, where the only difference is the wick as it is highlighted in the snapshot attached and shared today.

To confirm that both Charts Windows have the same exact configuration, I went through the shared page about "Number Of Trades, Volume or Range Bar Charts Do Not Match Setting or Are Not Accurate or Are Inconsistent" and have compared all mentioned in "General Information and Related Settings" section. Everything was already with the recommended settings and in both Charts.
Additionally, I have Deleted and Reloaded All Data, and have also set the "Link Bar Period" in both Charts, since they are linked with each other via Link Number 1.

This is why is so strange to me, when I'm seeing both charts at same exact time and in the VWAP chart the wick doesn't follow the exact Trades action as presented in the Footprint.

It would help a lot if I could have both aligned.

Thank you.
Best Regards,
Vitor Alves.

We notice that the bars in the chart named "Day VWAP" are setup as a Heikin-Ashi. These bars are not going to correspond to the same Open/High/Low/Close of a non-Heikin-Ashi bars. Refer to the following:
Heikin-Ashi

How can I change to a different bar? One that corresponds to the same Open/High/Low/Close of the chart name "Footprint"?
Thank you.

You need to remove this study from the chart:
Heikin-Ashi
