Hello, Please see the pdf attached to see the images. I have a 5 tick stop limit order attached on every order with 6E, see Image 1. Today I had a long limit order on 6E that was filled right at 7 am pst but my stop didn’t trigger. I got this error message saying “sell order stop price must be below trade price”. See Image 2. To my surprise and shock, within a few seconds I now had a long position on 6E with no stops or target orders attached and 6E was 40 ticks below my entry. See Image 3. Why was my stop order not attached and filled when 6E dropped to my stop price? What can I do to ensure my stops are triggered? |

The reason why the Stop was not put on is stated in the rejection - the price was above the current market price at the time the stop was entered. Since the market was quickly moving in a negative direction, then most likely what occurred is that the price moved below the 5 ticks for the Stop before the stop was entered, which now put the Stop above the last price which was then rejected.
