Hello there After updating my sierra to the newest version, the Chart Values Crosshair disappear. It was set to Yes for 'always on when chart values tool selected' and always enabled when other tools are selected. I can see a white patch hovering around the price axis when I move my cursor but there is no crosshair with the hand tool which was the setting I had before updating. My chart values tool colour is set to black as well and background on white. Thanks in advance for your help. |

In the most recent release there is an issue where the Crosshairs color is being changed. You need to manually change it back to the color you want. The particular graphics settings are the following: - Chart Values: Color of the Price and Time Boxes - Chart Values: Crosshair For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

No this is not the case: In the most recent release there is an issue where the Crosshairs color is being changed.
Instead, what is happening is that the colors are not being dynamically changed if they are too similar to the chart background color. So the problem is the color settings the user has. I have the same problem. On light-background charts, Chart/Values Crosshair used to work fine. It correctly chose a contrasting color and was easy to use. With the latest version, it's drawing the crosshair in white on top of a white-background chart. So it's invisible, or almost invisible. The problem is not 'the color setting the user has'. The problem is SC used to work fine and this feature broke in the latest release. Please FIX IT rather than blaming users' color settings! |

Hi Guys! Thanks for working to fix this. I'm writing again to make sure you are aware that althought the problem was PARTIALLY corrected, it's still broken as of SC 2610. Per the attached screen grab, the crosshairs themselves are back to automatically choosing a color that contrasts the chart background. But the X and Y axis values themselves are not legible because it's choosing the same color for the text and text background. The attached grab shows this. Notice how you can't read the price or timestamp on the axes I look forward to a new version that fixes this. It worked fine until about the start of 2024. Thanks again! p.s. I uploaded a .jpg screen grab rather than using the other procedure because soon as I try and use any SC menu the crosshairs disappear from the chart I'm trying to send you. But now it shows "Attachment deleted" in the preview. I'll try sending it in a separate reply if it doesn't post in this one. |

This is broken and fixed in the same release. Meaning that it is not a bug. There is a new setting for the text in the Price and Time boxes and by default it is set to black. So since you had the background for those boxes set to Black, you are not able to see the text. You need to change the color of this graphics setting: Graphics Settings: Chart Values: Price and Time Boxes Text Color For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

John, Thanks for this reply. I see how to do this for an individual chart using Chart-> Graphics Settings - Chart -> Chart Values: Price and Tim Boxes Text Color. But I literally have hundreds of charts! Is there a way to apply this change globally to all charts in a given .CHT? If not, I humbly submit that this really is a bug, from a user perspective, at least. For years and years, this worked fine, and SC automatically chose contrasting colors. Suddenly it doesn't. Telling the user they have to manually update dozens and dozens of individual charts by going into Chart->Graphics settings on each chart one by one isn't a good solution! Thanks in advance! |

There are new options on the "Graphics Settings - Chart" for "Copy to Global", "Copy From Global". These might be helpful to you, but it really depends on how you have your charts setup. Refer to the following: Graphics Settings: Copy to Global (Chart >> Graphics Settings - Chart) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Good morning John, in version 2611 I am adjusting the "Chart Values: Color of the Price and Time Boxes" on my individual chart and also globally but no change is taking place. I use a white back ground and the box is completely black over price and time on the chart. I have set it white, but no change takes place. I've reset SC several times after making these changes and no results.

Pick one chart where you want to make the change and Select "Chart >> Graphics Settings - Chart" and tell us if the option at he top for "Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings" has a checkmark or not.

Good Afternoon John. No, that option does not have a checkmark. The black coloring persists. Edit: In version 2615, this is partially fixed. I can use many different light colors that enable me to see, but selecting white from the basic colors defaults to black. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-03-15 17:32:57

What exactly happens when you select White for the color? When does it change on you? For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

I click on the white square, then click apply, and all boxes turn black. I can use any other color but white for some reason defaults to black. All the other color changes happen as soon as I click apply as well, only they display the appropriate color. It's just white that turns black.

We are going to add automatic color management for the Chart Values tool price and time box text color, in the next release which will be out in about one hour. This will be version 2617.
