Right now I cycle through timeframes using the number pad. i type 240, 120, 60 and hit enter to go to the respective timeframe. I'm wondering if I can assign hot keys to make this process faster as my trading involves cycling from the 480 min down to the 5 min multiple times throughout the process. so for example, assigning "0" as the 480min, "1" as the 240min "2" as the 120 min and so on down to the 5 min timeframe. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can assign Keyboard Shortcuts to certain Bar Periods, but it only the ones that are specifically available in the list. The Bar Period options are under "Chart >> Bar Period" in the Keyboard Shortcut list. Refer to the following for how to setup Keyboard Shortcuts: Global Settings Menu: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts (Global Settings menu) We do not recommend setting shortcuts to single keystrokes such as "1", "2", etc. That can lead to multiple things occurring, such as changing the bar period, but also the number being recorded for the keyboard changing option, such that you could end up changing the bar period to something odd such as "123" minutes. This is correct. You can create custom Control Bar Buttons for whatever time frame you want, but not keyboard shortcuts. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
