I have a large number of charts in the main chart book I use.
I would have thought that there are settings in Global Settings to do the following:
1. Evening session on all charts enabled
2. Do not start a new bar at the start of a session. In other words, I want pre market data to be shown on the charts when regular session starts.

I know how to make these changes one chart at a time. But I have 100 charts.
Considering SC is supposed to be efficient software, I think I am missing something to be able to make the changes across all 100 charts from Global Settings. Please point me to an easy way to do this.

There is not a way to make this change across all the charts in the way you are stating.

If changing the Evening Session On/Off is something you do, then you would want to use the Chart Linking option for the "Session Times". If all the charts have the same link number, then the Session Times will all be the same. Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Linking

Otherwise, you could create a custom study to create a Control Bar button that controls the parameters you want and have it update all charts. Refer to the following:
Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language (ACSIL)

List of Third Party Sierra Chart Study and System Programmers

If this is just the way you want the charts setup, then you would want to create a "Template" chart and duplicate it to create new charts to ensure that all the charts are the same. Refer to the following:
Using Chart Templates: Duplicating Charts / Template Charts

I have been using SC for several years.
I think the problem is with symbol Settings.
Symbol Settings are set to use evening session and not start a new bar at session open.
1. When USE CUSTOM SYMBOL SETTINGS on the top is unchecked, should not all charts comply to these settings?
2. Is there another setting somewhere that overwrites SYMBOL SETTING?

The symbol settings do set the default behavior for the various items in that list for when you start a new chart, or when you change the symbol for a chart. But it does not have any affect on already open charts.

Also, keep in mind that the settings are per symbol.

Is there a way to set the default behavior in symbol Settings to
1. Always use evening session
2. Do not start a new bar at session open.
It appears that these options can not be set as default.

If USE CUSTOM SYMBOL SETTINGS is checked, will that totally invalidate symbol Settings and individual chart settings will work?

VERY TROUBLING -- URGENT

I am long time sc customer.

I need your help to urgently resolve this very troubling situation.
Yesterday, I took time to manually change all 100 charts to show evening session and to not start a new bar at the session open. I saved all and exited. This morning when I restarted sc, it did not show pre session data. I again manually changed settings to show pre session data. At 9:30, all pre session data disappeared and a new bar started.

Please contact me to log on and fix this or tell me exact settings to change.
