Sierra team,

In the next release, could you please put the list of Graphics Settings (Chart and Global) in simple alphabetical order?

The list is currently in completely random order, which makes finding a specific setting needlessly laborious. If the list were in alphabetical order, individual settings would be easy to find.

This is, generally speaking, the most logical way of organizing written lists for ease of use.

Thanks

It actually is not in a random order. There is a method for the information that is displayed.
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

Could you kindly explain what that method is? I'm not exactly a low IQ guy, and it looks random to me. If there's an organization to it, maybe that will help me find what I need more quickly...it's a little painful sorting through it at present. Thanks John

- Status window items
- List Box items
- Time and Sales Window items
- Settings Window items

- Chart DOM Items
- Chart Trade Window items
- Chart Trading Order Lines
- Chart trading order fills
- Trade DOM items
- Quote Board items
- Study Summary
- Bid/Ask Bar
- Market Depth
- Spreadsheet

John,

I think your answer is illustrative of the problem. There is no rhyme or reason to that list. It is not organized according to any objective ordering whatsoever. But the problem is deeper than that: not only are the main categories, such as "Chart DOM" and "Trade DOM" completely disordered, but all of the settings within those main categories are also completely disordered.

For example, "Control Bar: Enabled Button Text" precedes "Control Bar: Background". How? There are hundreds of settings here, and the only way a user can find the one he needs is to literally read through each line, every time.

For a piece of software as advanced as Sierra Chart, this boggles the mind. To call it painful is actually an understatement.

Can you guys please put the entire list in simple alphabetical order?

I can't see any argument against doing so. The programming legwork on that should be absolutely minimal I would think.

Really appreciate your time and help on this. Thanks

John, just to follow up here, would you mind please escalating this to the engineering team? Perhaps just give us an option in the next release to sort the list alphabetically?

I don't know if maybe this sounds minor to you in the abstract, but when one is configuring -- or reconfiguring -- a large set of charts, this is really a glaring inefficiency in practice.

Thanks

Senior engineering is aware of the request. We do not know when any particular request will get fulfilled.
