Hello, I went through all the help details regarding Sierra performance issues, and finally found the issue being Rectangle Highlight and Ellipse Highlight that I am using on higher timeframe charts, and having them visible on my fast tick charts with dom. Allocating 2 CPU cores was enough until I started using more of these Highlight tools. Now with 8 cores, it still stutters and pauses. It looks like the chart these tools are on is single threaded, so more cores doesn't help. High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.15 - Highlight Tools Drawings Can you clarify if these tools can be made to use GPU instead of CPU, or if there is another tool which does not impose the same performance penalty? |

To solve the performance issue with these, set the Transparency Level with the drawing either to 0 or 100.

That worked great, thank you. Is there any way to get these tools working with transparancy and low resources? It's useful to have shading especially when viewing on different time frames.

We will look into improving the performance with OpenGL. Are you using OpenGL?

I don't have opengl enabled in sierra chart on my main machine currently, but can test on another machine.

Yes, test this. Refer to: Graphics Settings: Use OpenGL for Chart Graphics (Global Settings >> Graphics Settings >> Other) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
