Simple question... Can I upgrade to the most recent version of Sierra Chart without affecting my AMP/CQG setup? I use SC v2391, with SC service pack 10. I have NOT had any problems with AMP/CQG. For a long time, there was a sticky support post saying v2391 (or close to it) was the last usable version for an AMP/CQG setup... Later versions would not work with AMP/CQG. That sticky post is no longer listed, afaict. Can I upgrade to the current SC version while still maintaining my current AMP/CQG setup?? Thanks. |

Yes you can and we definitely recommend updating to the current version. However, you do have to pay the exchange fee through Sierra Chart to get the real-time data. Wait. What? AMP collects exchange fees for the CQG real-time feed directly from my account each month. You're saying I have to pay SierraChart DIRECTLY for 1) SC software -and- 2) exchange fees associated with the CQG real-time data feed. No. The exchange fee is for the Denali Data Feed. Not CQG.AMP collects exchange fees for the CQG real-time feed directly from my account each month. No. This is not supported. You can only use the Denali Data Feed. And soon we will be discontinuing support for older versions of Sierra Chart with CQG. So an update will be mandatory anyway. And additionally if you are only using CQG for CME Group trading, it makes no sense whatsoever to be utilizing CQG with Sierra Chart. We do not want to our users to be using CQG, for CME trading. Absolutely not. In fact that is a model we moved away from several years ago. It was very hard for us to manage, not to mention difficult for the customers. You have complete control over your Sierra Chart account with the way we have it setup now.
