Hello, Which data (NASDAQ TotalView and/or U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape) is more comprehensive and with more info for service package 11? Or should I subscribe to both? In addition, can you please refer me to how can I send properly the symbol to the trading service using IB and NQTV. I tried "update global symbol setting" and only succeeded using "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" on a specific chart. Thank you, |

The answer to your question depends on what you want to view. The NASDAQ TotalView just has the information for trades that take place on the NASDAQ exchange for a symbol. So if you are trading just that exchange, then we would think this would be what you would want. The U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape has all the trades for all the U.S. exchanges for which a product is traded. Therefore, if you are not trading a specific exchange, then this is probably the data you would want to view. The one other thing is that the Market Depth data is only available with the NASDAQ TotalView, or if you have both the NASDAQ TotalView and the U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape, then you can view them together using the _MBO appended to the symbol (IBM_MBO for example). -- In terms of how to handle the symbol, you need to use the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" and set the symbol as IB needs in in that field. Also, you will want to set the option for "Use as Trade Only Symbol" to "Yes". Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
