Trying to implement - 'Scanning for Alert Condition Across Multiple Symbols'
On Step 4 'Enable Chart >> Only Symbols in Watch List' - Sierra Chart locks up.
What to do.
-
Chartbook contains a single chart - (YM Daily Chart)
Chart Study contains a - single Color Bar Based on Alert condition
Associated Watch List contains - 2 symbols (YM-202312-CBOT, GC-202312-COMEX)

Step 4 'Enable Chart >> Only Symbols in Watch List' - Sierra Chart locks up.
Windows Task Mgr, shows SierraChart CPU % = 00.
Recovered by applying the 'End Task' command in Task Mgr.
Did Step 5. Enable Global Settings >> General Settings >> General >> Data >> Subscribe Real-time (RT) Data and Download Historical Data During Scan to ensure that the charts being scanned are up-to-date.
Restart SC and the same thing happens.

and again with an intraday chart ...

Chart Study contains a - single Color Bar Based on Alert condition

Step 4 'Enable Chart >> Only Symbols in Watch List' - Sierra Chart locks up.
Windows Task Mgr, shows SierraChart CPU % = 00.
Recovered by applying the 'End Task' command in Task Mgr.

This really does not make sense to have that condition. We would not be able to reproduce this and we cannot. And we are quite sure there would be no one else who would be able to reproduce this either.

Also by default that option on the menu is already enabled. Is it not enabled for you?

Also we are not sure this matters but you are running an older version. It really should not matter at all based upon the particular problem you're having but here are the update instructions:

Software Download: Fast Update

An issue like this, is not going to be with the specific command you are using. But it would seem as though there is a memory corruption occurring for some other reason at an earlier point in time, and then resulting in a problem when using that command.
