Symbol Alert versus Chart Drawing Alert.

Hi,

So I have read through and experimented with the two aforementioned alerts and have a question about whether it is possible to do some consolidation between the two and the Alert Manager/Watchlist. To set the scene, I have a watchlist of about 50 different equities that I monitor and flip through and am usually actively trading at least a few of the time at the same time.
There seem to be three ways I can set an alert directly on my chart:
1. Using a drawing tool with an associated alert to set an alert at a price level. In this case I have a nice drawing on the chart as well as an alert, however if I switch the chart to another symbol then the alert will not be triggered even if I have an associated quoteboard open which continues to update price. If I stay on the symbol then the alert will trigger, show up in the Alert Manager, and I am able to click on the alert to be switched to the chart(for example if I had tabbed to a different chartbook at the time to look at a different asset class). (ACSIL alerts also behave the same way as these)
2. Using Add Symbol Alert to set an alert at a price level on the chart. In this case there is no drawing, but the alert seems to be getting saved to some secondary system which continues to be monitored even if I switch my chart to a different symbol. However, once the alert triggers(for example lets say I had set the alert on TSLA and then switched symbols on that chart to AAPL) the alert will show up in the Alert Manager, but when I double click it to switch to the symbol/chart nothing happens.

So my question is would it be possible to have drawing alerts to be saved wherever the symbol alerts are going so that they are activated even when that symbol is not open on the chart? Or alternatively is it possible to have the symbol alerts that are placed on a chart+symbol to be linked to that symbol+chart combo so that when they pop in the Alert Manager we can click on them to pull up the chart and symbol setup?

If there is some other way to also achieve what I am trying to do then I would greatly appreciate learning it as well.

Cheers, cha0

Hi,

Not to badger but was just wondering if there was any update on this. Additionally from my reading through the SierraChart documentation it didn't seem possible to create a Symbol Alert using ACSIL, only the chart tied alerts. Would it be possible to allow for this as well as to programmatically retrieve which symbol alerts are currently active? (Or if I'm mistaken could you point me to the relevant method)

This is a significant development effort to do what you require. We will be looking at it. It is not something that would come anytime soon.
