Hi, i am trying familiarize myself with the Bar based Backtester in SC. I have added one of the build in Trading System Study: Trading System - Study Subgraph Crossover to my chart and set it up to produce some entry/exit signals. I can see them on the chart as expected. I have set "Send to trading service" to YES and enabled the trading system. I connected to the SC All Data service, disconnected and enabled sim mode. When i run a backtest, no positions are opened and i see the following in the message log:

Chart: Bar Backtest: ESZ23-CME [CBV][M] 3000 Volume #8 | Study: Trading System - Study Subgraph Crossover | General order error. Refer to 'Trade >> Trade Service Log' for specific message for this trading action error

However, when i go to the Trade Service Log, i see no error. In fact, i don't see any message there. Neither does the Trade Activity log show any orders or positions.

What could be the reason this trading system's signals do not produce Sim positions?

Thank you.

Most likely the reason for the error is that you are in Simulation Mode and you have the Trading System Input for "Send Trade Orders To Trade Service" set to "Yes".

When you are in Simulation Mode, that Input needs to be set to "No" for the orders to process properly.

When you get this, though, you should have a line in your Trade Service Log stating that there is an inconsistency with this Input.

Thank you for your (quick) response. This was indeed the problem. But there was indeed no line in the Trading Service Log. I upgraded to the latest version of SC and still no log entry. FYI.

We tested this just to make sure and we did get the notice in the log. It's OK though, as long as you got it working.
