Scale-In order layer

Hi SC support,

I enter using a layer of limit orders-- assume 5 buy limit orders separated each by 5 ticks - I assume that if the price fills the nearest, given that I have all the scale-in setup and also there is attached orders etc...
When first near limit buy order fills , then you have already a position with quantity 1 and two attached a target and a stop... When price lowers and fills any additional from my orders submitted "BEFORE" the first order fills then Scale-In doesn't work ??

If I don't place any limit orders in that layer and wait until I fill the FIRST limit order - and then I submit a layer of buy limit orders, then Scale-In works as expected and also Scale-Out ..
Is this expected that Scale-In works only for orders submitted "AFTER" there is already an existing position ? Is the timing of order submission a factor to execute the scale in ..

If all limit orders are submitted as non filled and price fills the nearest then there is a non-zero position and attached order, I expect the other residing non filled when filled will be scaled in , now I have to submit after I have a filled position which is not convenient in a fast market while u layer the orders on the limit ? Kindly advise ... Thanks a lot

Yes this is the case:
Is this expected that Scale-In works only for orders submitted "AFTER" there is already an existing position ?
We will see if this can be changed.

Thanks a lot for your confirmation.
It will be highly valuable to change it such that scale-in can function in order layers submitted before a first fill. Kindly keep me posted accordingly.

It would be highly appreciated if the change is implemented ? Is there any update ? I have been discussing with many other peer traders and they are looking forward as well..

There is a lot of time to look into this and implement a solution. We are not sure when it would be done.

Hi Support,

I have noticed in live market since that feature was added that the scaling is still not executed as planned. For example, whether the attached orders associated with the position is not matching the actual position quantity. Or the attached orders of the position is not even placed at all to the trade. I have enabled the feature and sometimes it work and sometimes not. I am attaching three charts to show the filling sequence of a position which results in unmatched position quantity and attached orders --- I believe in the quality of your feature but I am reviewing with you what could be missed from my setup. On many other examples, the attached orders are not even placed to the position which is a critical issue and I try my best in fast market to cover my position with orders or flatten it to mitigate the risk.. I believe you have a stressful way of testing than my side but it is all observation and in live trading. I have attached some charts from one example I have created in Sim ...

Thanks a lot for your efforts...

This feature is very simple and simply allows new orders to be considered Scale In orders, with only there being Pending Attached Orders and not working Attached Orders.

It definitively works consistently and most importantly correctly. There is no other possibility. Furthermore, it does just what is explained above. Nothing else.

If it is working inconsistently or not as you want, it is because you are altering what you are doing or you are misunderstanding it, and it is working in a completely stable and correct manner relative to what you are doing.

One thing to be aware of, is that the first order that you submit when using this option, must be the first order that is going to fill. Otherwise, other orders that are considered Scale In orders are not going to create any attached orders.

We will not be spending any further time on this, at least not with the information presented here.

This is the information added to the documentation:

It is important to be aware with this particular option, is that the first order that you submit intended to establish the Position, must be the first order that is going to fill. Otherwise, other orders that are considered Scale In orders and have no Attached Orders themselves, are not going to create any any Attached Orders without an existing Position and working Attached Orders.
