Hi Support,

I have tried to use this feature to run batch and executable files but it doesn't seem to be working.

I read in other threads that there should be error messages in the Window > Message Log but there isn't any.

The alert log did popup as configured.

Please advise.

What is the Alert Number that you are using?

Hi John,

I was testing it with Alert Number 1

And that is the Alert number that is set for the alert itself?

We are wondering if you have the alert numbers setup properly and that is why the program is not running.

Also, there will not be anything in the Message Log, unless there was a specific problem actually running cme.exe, otherwise there is not a way to feedback that information.

The other thing, of course, is to ensure that your program runs properly from within a command window, as that is how the program is run. If that works properly, then it should work from within the alert.

Are you running an executable or a batch file?

Hi John,

And that is the Alert number that is set for the alert itself?
Yes I did. I enabled 'Show Alerts Log on Study Alert' as well as 'Send E-Mail When Alert is Triggered' to double check.

Are you running an executable or a batch file?
I am experimenting with a batch file currently.

One of the things you can do is add a PAUSE command at the end of the Batch file which will cause the Command window to stay open. This will help you to troubleshoot the issue you are having. If the command window does not stay up, then your batch file is not being processed. In which case you need to go back a step and ensure you have the full path and all the alert items setup correctly.
