I want to create an alert similar to the Outside Bar study based on bar characteristics like open/close/high/low and maybe with some conditions based on moving averages or other references. What is the best way to create something like this? I'd like to mark my chart with an arrow and maybe someday use this alert to trigger trades. Thanks, Jim |

Hello, This can all be done if you look in the SC guide for creating alerts. Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning: To Enter an Alert Condition on a Study There is also a study built in for the Daily HLOCs Daily OHLC Another way is to get familiar with SC's spreadsheets. You basically put a Spreadsheet study on the chart of interest. Then go to that spreadsheet and sheet number and add your user calculations just like Excel in the correct columns. Finally, use another study to show the results of those columns of data back on your original chart. Text Display For Study Or change colors and other things on the chart with this... I attempted to try the spreadsheet alerts and trading but I am not getting any entries with Replay. Trading ES. I have a bunch of formulas in different columns to establish if there is a Buy signal bar (column O) or a Sell signal bar (column P). I want to enter on the bar after the signal bar which needs to close, then I want to market buy 1t above the high of the buy signal bar. Like a buy stop +1t above the high of the prev bar. My Buy Entry in column K is: =AND(O4=1,E3=C4+.25) Nothing happens. Any suggestions to what I might be doing wrong? Thanks, J |
