I searched around and didn't find any way to use the intraday file update list to keep bar data files updated. I am thinking of being able to add something like: XXXXX.scid_BarData_<interval>.txt e.g. XXXXX.scid_BarData_1m.txt or similar, and having SC write each completed bar to disk. Currently, I am using Edit >> Export Bar Data to Text File on every chart I want to export daily, which is not really practical for a large number of symbols. The feature I'm requesting would be a huge time saver. |

Refer to the following: Write Bar Data to File For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

hi, thanks for the advice... this works fairly well, although it would still be much more convenient to use the intraday file list, rather than having to open a chart for each instrument. however, this solution is okay, except the file format generated by the study is slightly different than that generated by "Export Bar Data to Text File". It would be nice if there were an option to make them identical. I could write code to convert the two formats, but then there are additional files to clean up after the contract expires and there is no point in using the study. For long-expired contracts that I download after the fact, it is easier to just use "Export Bar Data to Text File", so that becomes the preferred format. If the study format matched the "Export Bar Data to Text File" format, then I could just synchronize the file naming format any time I use the study (via the "File Path" parameter) and not have the extra step of deleting the study file after the contract expires.
