Hi,

I am new to sierra charts and it’s very hard understand anything. I don’t know if I have subscribed for real data or delayed, I am not sure why I am not getting historical data, I don’t know how to convert my tpo charts to normal bar charts.

Kindly help me out! Thank you

Hi Dhanush, if your focus is within the CME Group Futures Exchanges we must ask: do you have a Futures Trading Account?

The CME Group expects you to have a Futures Trading Account in order to qualify as a Non-Professional
[*Note: we know of only the CME Group having this rule, not EUREX, not CFE, not NASDAQ, not NYSE, just the CME Group*]

From the CME Group Certification:
"The Non-Professional Subscriber must:
a. have an active and funded futures trading account;
b. be an individual, natural person or small business entity"

The solution if you do not have a Futures Trading Account (but would otherwise qualify as a Non-Professional) is described here:

Hi,

I want to start using sierra charts for training myself. I just started getting into trading and my mentor uses sierra charts. Therefore I want to use as well.

Is there anyway to set up it up with having to trade it?

Dhanush, this situation comes up all the time now: there are Brokers that will open up small Futures Trading Accounts just to help people with this issue, just to help people with the requirement of having a Futures Trading Account in order to qualify as a Non-Professional. One of (1) AMP Futures, (2) Stage5, or (3) EdgeClear would help you here.

So you might open up a small Futures Trading Account in order to meet the Non-Professional qualification, and qualify for the discounted Non-Professional Real-time Data Exchange Fees:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: Supported Exchanges (Exchange Fees)

Lastly if you you could use delayed Streaming Futures Data, there no additional cost for that and you could use the cheaper SP5 instead of SP11.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Just to make sure I understand right, I have to open a real funded account to access live futures data?

I already see ES Mini to be working (although idk if it’s live or delayed).

Kindly let me know. I might be asking the same thing but the truth is the software is overwhelming for me. So bear with me please and thank you!

Hi Dhanush, regarding: "Just to make sure I understand right, I have to open a real funded account to access live futures data?"
>> yes that is best.

Regarding "I already see ES Mini to be working (although idk if it’s live or delayed)."
>> its delayed streaming Futures Data (and Stock Data), you don't need to be on SP11 to receive it, you can convert your Usage Time to SP5 (which would increase it)

You can convert your SP11 Usage Time into SP5 Usage Time by activating an SP5 option from this drop-down here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ServicesActivation#ServicePackage
(the conversion ratio is the relevant price ratio)

Hi!

Can you tell me if my package provides historic data? I see only a month’s worth of data. May be should I click on historic data instead of intraday?

Thank uou

Hi Dhanush, regarding "Can you tell me if my package provides historic data? I see only a month’s worth of data. May be should I click on historic data instead of intraday?
>> connecting to Rithmic for Data will offer you very little in terms of Historical Data, nothing we can do about that, you would need to use Denali Data (from Sierra Chart) in order to attain superior historical data.
Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Using Continuous Futures Contract Charts

I see from a previous message that your focus is the CME Group, and you do not have a Futures Trading Account, so it would be very expensive to get Real-time CME Group Data as you would be considered a Professional.

Hi,

I just want to know one thing and you might have mentioned already but I am not understanding because I am trying to access US data but I am from India. So not familiar with anything.

I just want to know what to do to get historical data for emini. I am not planning to trade for time being. I want to access the data without any trouble and use footprint,Dom and market profile.

Kindly let me know if I am on right track or I need to purchase something further.

Also, do you provide any service where you guys setup the charts according to my preference for a fee??

Thank you,
Dhanush

Hi Dhanush, since you are not planning to trade would delayed streaming data be good enough for you, that would provide you with historical data:
Delayed Exchange Data Feed

Also there is no Data Exchange Fee for Delayed Data; this would be in contrast to the large fees you would need to pay each month for Real-time Data without a Futures Trading Account. See the Professional Fees options here for Real-time CME Group Data:

Hi,

Delayed data is providing me around 3-5 months of data only. Is there anyway to get years and years of past data?

Thank you
