Hi, I purchased some tryout accounts with Topstep because they say you can use Sierra Chart in their promo material. Come to find out after the fact that they use Rithmic and charge $40 a month to get level two data on top of what they charge per month on their tryouts. So I have two questions... 1. I thought you didn't have support for Rithmic anymore, is that correct? 2. If I can connect through Rithmic, is there a way to do that on a separate instance so that I can have the level two that I get through Denali on one instance and then quickly switch over to another instance that is running on Rithmic? Or will I need to wait for charts to load etc. and would most likely take too long? I guess what I'm saying is, what is the best way to approach this to avoid paying them the extra $40 a month for level two data through Rithmic since I already have level two through Sierra? Thanks |

1. We were going to remove Rithmic - actually we did. But Rithmic themselves created a DTC Protocol connection to our system, which is an open protocol that we support (and manage), so we do have support for Rithmic. Refer to the following for information and the Setup Instructions: Rithmic Trading Platform Service 2. What you want to do in this case, is not use the Rithmic data. Instead, you will install a second Sierra Chart on the same computer as your existing installation. Then setup that second installation to connect to your TopStep Rithmic account (using the instructions from the section linked above). Refer to the instructions here for how to install another Sierra Chart: Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time: Step-By-Step Instructions to Install Multiple Copies of Sierra Chart You will then be getting the Denali data to both installations and you will be able to trade either one as you wish. There is no option to select anything besides DTC- Sub Instance [trading]. There is no dropdown selection menu. "On the Main Settings tab, click on the Current Selected Service (List) list box at the top of the window. Select the Rithmic Direct - DTC [Trading] service name from the list." |

You need to install a separate installation of Sierra Chart to use with Rithmic. Not run a Sub Instance. Okay I'm making progress slowly but surely. I was able to select Topstep from the rithmic server settings drop down at first but then when I copied files over from my original Sierra Chart folder that was no longer an option. Only login information from an old Apex account is available. Is there a way to remove that so I can login to the Topstep server through Rithmic? Thanks |

Okay thanks I am getting closer now. The issue now is that I'm getting a "Waiting to download historical data" and "Downloading Historical Data" signals on my charts, but when I go to my message log it looks like I'm trying to pull in data from a long time ago (ESH0) even though I followed the steps for data limiting in common settings and on my individual charts.

There must be some chart that is downloading that amount of data. Close the Chartbook with File >> Close Chartbook and open a new individual chart. Cancel the existing downloads with Edit >>Cancel All Downloads. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Okay that worked. I relaunched the chartbook after following the steps and everything seems to be working now. Thanks for all of your help. I know there were a couple steps there that I missed so I appreciate your patience in walking me through this.

Does this setup for TopStep require both a Rithmic Data feed as well as Denali, or just one. Still a little confused. Many thanks. |

As far as Sierra Chart goes, you will only be getting data from one source for any particular exchange. So if you are setup to get data from our Denali feed, then that data will come from us. Any other data would come from Rithmic. For example, if you activated the "NYMEX Top-of-Book" for our Denali Exchange Data Feed, then when you open a chart for a NYMEX symbol, the data will be coming from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. If you open a symbol for the COMEX exchange, then the system will try to get that data from the service you are connected to. So you do not need both, unless you have some specific reason to. And we highly recommend using our Denali data as you will have fewer issues and have access to much more historical data than you would with Rithmic. Yes, Denali has been excellent. Only ever 1 hiccup I think but excellent. Support is very good as well. |

I would like to see that Denali and Teton become an open datafeed and executation, such as Multichart can also use them.
