Suggestion for new Numbers Bars setting

In the Numbers Bars study, I have a suggestion to add a setting option to Open and Close Marker Style (ln:74).
What I suggest is a hybrid between the current options of Candlestick Outline and Candlestick Body Outline.
In Candlestick Outline the wicks of the candlestick body are centered in between the numbers. The location of the wicks is a centerline between the numbers. I want that centerline location for the candlestick body itself.

The new option I suggest for (ln:74) is: Candlestick Body Outline as Centerline. Where the candlestick body (without wicks) is a line centered in between the numbers. The width of this centerline would be adjusted at Candlestick Outline Width (ln:100).

The end result would look like the attached screenshot (this is not a Sierra Chart).

Can this setting option be added to (ln:74) in the Numbers Bars settings? It is a very streamlined, elegant look.

You can already do this by using the built-in Sierra study: 'Overlay (Bar)' as an addition to an existing Footprint (Numbers Bars) chart, and using the 'Candlestick Body Only' subgraph draw type in the study settings. See the attached screenshot for details.
Hope this helps.

Hello Ticinotrader, Thank you for your reply.

But why overly complicate things with two studies, when the Numbers Bars study could have this setting integrated, where we can easily select it from the settings at (ln:74)?

Besides, I followed your instruction exactly and did not get the desired results. So there must be some other setting somewhere in my chart or my Numbers Bars study that is different from yours.

So again, Sierra Chart, we should be able to easily select this in Numbers Bars settings from Open and Close Marker Style (ln:74). Not use two studies to work-around what can easily be native to the Numbers Bars study. imo

Is this possible to add, Sierra Chart?

To result with the same view I posted, the only extra thing you may want to adjust is the candle width. The relevant setting is Chart >> Graphics Settings Chart >> Other'.

Graphics Settings: Candlestick Width % (Global Settings >> Graphics Settings >> Other)

Using the Bar Overlay study along with Numbers Bars is far more superior than adding extra bar-type/open/close indication options to the Numbers Bars study. Simply because bar overlay provides 100% user control of the displayed format, instead of forcing the user to a limited number of preset options.

See the two attached examples below that could be achieved with the same method I mentioned above, but would surely create a really overcomplicated Numbers Bars study when added as individual, new settings.

Hope this makes sense.

Hi,

1. In your footprint Chart Settings -> Bar Period, select Graph Draw Type -> HL bars.
2. As a study, add Color Bar Open/Close and change the colors as desired.
3. Done !

Notes : You can change the width of the bars in your Graphics Settings -> Bar High-Low Down and Bar High-Low Up.

Have a nice day.
