Hello SC Support, I currently import a huge amount of stock/instrument End-of-Day data (EOD) from a data source into Sierra Chart using a script. I can then view all these individual stocks in the Quoteboard and reference them in the Chartbook with the link feature. Question is, is it possible to use more than just the Symbol Field for the chart linking reference to display the stock (i.e is it possible to list Open, High, Low, Close price data for those manually imported EOD stocks). I'm particularly interested in the 'Alerts' field highlighting any alert price triggers since the last EOD update rather than having to go through each one. I did notice that the charts only update when I actually click on the Symbol in the Quoteboard, it doesn't update dynamically. Thanks in advance. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-07-02 09:41:55

is it possible to list Open, High, Low, Close price data for those manually imported EOD stocks No. The quote board is designed to work only with a real-time data feed providing current quote data. You could develop a real-time data feed server using DTC:https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_DTCProtocol.php I did notice that the charts only update when I actually click on the Symbol in the Quoteboard, it doesn't update dynamically. Ah not to worry. I basically download one ADVFN file with all the specific stock lisiting data for the day. The script reads that file and individually opens those stock files (.Dly) one-by-one, prints to the end of that stock file, closes it and moves onto the next for all those Stock.Dly files that exist in the directory. I was hoping that on opening the Chartbook with the Quoteboard (after the script update), any price action since the last update passing an alert would be highlighted in the QB. |
