Cumulative Sum of Study resets at evening session, not morning session?

I'm using the Cumulative Sum of Study study to get a sum of some values from the Numbers Bars Calculated Values study. It works but with one significant problem. It's set to reset "at start of trading day" but that appears to be the evening reopen, not the morning session. This means that I can't get a cumulative sum starting at the cash open at 08:30 am Central time. It always includes the evening data values as well. The only way I can do this is to disable the evening session, which I really don't want to do if I don't have to. Is there an issue in the study or is there something else I need to do, to get it to reset at both session start times? |

You would have to use a second and/or third chart that is set to the specific session times that you want and set the Cumulative Sum of Study on those charts and then you can overlay those to the Full Session chart to view the data on a single chart. The other option would be to modify the study itself for your needs. The code is in Studies8.cpp in the ACS_Source folder under your main Sierra Chart installation folder. Oh wow... so it was actually intended to be this way. Overlays aren't going to cut it for me unfortunately, too much of a performance hit. I'll look into modifying the study I guess... thanks.

I don't suppose you guys would consider just making this study consistent with the behaviors/settings found in the Cumulative Delta studies, where there is an option to reset at both session start times? I was surprised it wasn't like this already, and I can't be the only person who's ever wanted to accumulate a study starting at the RTH open. Appreciate your consideration, and I'm trying to figure out how I might modify the study myself anyway despite it being way over my head. |

We certainly wish we had the time to get to all these kind of items, but we just do not. That is why we suggest you modify it - as we know we simply can't get to it.
