What happened to all my specific Horizontal Lines - Continuous Contracts ?

During the last contract period (ESM23) I was tracking specific gaps that occurred each week,(using the OHLC Ray tool). Now that I converted to the ESU23 contract, all my specific horizontal lines are gone. I can only assume that this is because the OHLC Ray command can't track the change that occurred in the new contract switch. I'm also assuming that this would NOT happen if there was a 'Continuous Contract' function. So, is there a way Sierra Chart can chart a 'Continuous Contract' so my horizontal lines won't get wiped out at each contract change? (Assuming I lost my horiz. lines because of the contract switch.) Thanks for your assistance. |

This is a common occurance. If you open "Manage Chart Drawings Window" you will find that your drawings are still there, just assigned to the old symbol. To see them you will have to select them all, use "Edit Symbol" to switch to ESU23, and then use "Adjust" to account for rollover price difference, which will vary depending on your chosen rollover method.

Thank you for your assistance. Question, do you know how to calculate the rollover price difference? And regarding 'rollover method', is there a rollover method that makes this process easier?

I'm realizing this is a very tedious process. I have to go through every chart and transfer all my previous analysis (Fib retracements, notes, comments, rectangles etc,) to the new contract. I wonder if there is an easier way to do this. I'm surprised I haven't seen this as a issue people are displeased with about Sierra in other posts.

To change the symbol of the all the drawings in a chart, select "Chart >> Update Chart Drawings to Current Symbol". Refer to the following: Chart Menu: Update Chart Drawings to Current Symbol (Chart menu) As stated in the section above, the following are the instructions to adjust the drawings: Changing to a New Futures Contract Month: Adjusting Chart Drawings to Match Futures Contract Rollover Difference For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Support, That link will bring the drawings to the current symbol. But it's my understanding that you still have to go through the laborious process of: Selecting all the chart drawings Using the Message box to find out the vertical difference between the past and present futures contract Go through every chart and adjust the vertical distance for every drawing on the chart. That's quite a process to do after every contract change. Does Sierra have a streamlined process where managing all chart drawings could be easier? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-06-15 20:02:10

To answer your question from earlier, the way I do it is by comparing one of the drawings with price action I derived it from. Not perfect, but mostly works. I'd also like to know if there's a better way.
