Hello Community, I am looking for a quiet/fanless laptop to run Sierra. I've tried to make it work on my Apple M1 device for a few months, but there is no reliable way to do it. I posted about my experience in several Macbook-related threads. Sierra runs well on Windows and I find that I have to stick to it until something changes. I already have a Windows laptop, but it gets very loud and hot, to the point I can't take it anymore. I am very sensitive to noise. I started looking for fanless/low noise laptops. I've seen Sierra Engineering say they use the program on a Surface Pro laptop successfully. Some Surface laptops are fanless. There's also Surface Pro X, which runs on an ARM chip and Sierra does provide an ARM build. This all sounds good in theory, but in practice fanless systems will throttle CPU when it gets hot. I find that Sierra can be CPU heavy, especially when relying on long-term tick data charts, which I am. So my question is - do you personally own/run a laptop that is very quiet or fanless and what is your experience with it? Thank you and I am looking forward to hearing from you, i. |
