I would like to have a setting that will force a pause in trading for 1 minute after 3 flat to flat loosing trades in a row. I could not find that kind of setting in global profit and loss management. Is it somewhere else? Thanks

There is no item like this built into Sierra Chart. You would have to create your own custom study to lock trading for 1 minute when this occurs.

Is there a way to set an alert for the parameters?

Unfortunately there is not an easy way to know that the last three trades were losses using the built-in tools. You might be able to pull it together using a Spreadsheet Study and some of the Trading Studies (such as "Trading: Losing Trades"). Otherwise, again, the best option would be to create a custom study for this. I wish SC expanded their collection of trading studies for Consecutive wins/loss, MAE/MFE, Peak/Trough Equity, Trade Duration etc. These are all quite necessary for autotrading strategies. These calculations are already performed in the Statistics tab so creating studies should be relatively easy. Jimmy - one crude way is to use the Maximum Drawdown study and divide this by your per trade risk if the risk is fixed. It's not ideal |
