Hello, If I modify a study collection by adding or removing some of its studies or changing their settings, and then saving everything with the same collection name, the chartbooks containing a previous version of the collection don't update to the new one when they get opened. That forces me to set manually the new version on each chartbook and it's a task I have to repeat more than 50 times every day. I think that when opening a chartbook its settings should be automatically read and set entirely. I haven't found any documentation to get it. I'd be happy to do an ACSIL script if necessary. As an alternative, some buttons on the control bar to set quickly (one-click) the needed collections would be very appreciated. |

A Study Collection is not a permanent item. That is, it only applies the studies that are specified within it, then it is done. There is no information that is kept that knows that the studies were put on from a Study Collection. If you are constantly changing and updating a Study Collection and then want to apply that to the other charts, then it would be best to create a custom study that applies the Study Collection. Refer to the following function in particular: sc.ApplyStudyCollection() For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Fine, a collection is not a permanent item but a study is supposed to be that, since it may be, and of course it is, applied to different chartbooks. The above function may works but: - the ClearExistingStudiesFromChart parameter, if set to 1 prevents the user from adding further studies other than the "basic" collection since they get deleted at every chart update, if set to 0 causes the collection to get duplicated at every chart update. As an example, I mean to set a basic configuration for every charts and then add one or more specific studies according to the specific time frame or the specific ticker. That's not possible using that function. - it would do what the program should do as a primary task: load the latest chart configuration, study settings included. - it provides users with some extra work. |
