Hello, I was hoping to get a few recommendations on how I should go about purchasing and trading with SC. I'm currently switching from Tradovate and while I actually think setting up SC was pretty easy, the other stuff like connecting to data and picking out a broker is a little daunting. Tradovate did it all on pretty much one screen but I am not happy with them anymore... To describe myself, I'm a non professional planning on just getting my feet wet with SC before going all in. I want to practice with a small account ($250) trading the MES and MNQ. In my current setup I'm using a footprint chart with number bars, VWAP and Volume by Price for studies along with some EMA's and Cumulative Delta. Could anyone recommend a broker and a SC package that I should use? I think I could get away with the integrate package (11) but other than a broker, does that provide all I need? I'm happy any answer any questions. Thank you. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-03-20 17:30:57

I don't think Stage 5 supports the my margin requirements. Neither does Edge Clear... On the list, Iron Beam could be a solution but I haven't read the best reviews on them and AMP Futures is in that same category. I understand you get what you pay for, I just dont have that much capital atm. Thank you for your response though! Do you have any other recommendations or know if Iron Beam or AMP Futures would work? |

Margins are a double-edged sword, as you know. If you're looking for excellent support, and decent commissions, go for Stage 5. Iron Beam may have lower margins, but I can't comment on customer support and fees. AMP futures supposedly is about to go live with Teton for their users, so you'll have to contact them directly for advice on that. |

In terms of your Sierra Chart needs, you will need to be on package 11 or 12, as you state you need the Numbers Bars. You will find the differences in the packages here: Description of Service Packages and Pricing: Integrated Packages You will also need to setup the real-time data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. You will find the instructions for setting up the data from the CME Group here: Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX Exchanges* Although will want to wait to setup the Denali data until you have your broker account setup in order to qualify for the non-professional exchange fees from the CME Group. One other note on the data - the exchanges work on a calendar month basis, and the data is not pro-rated, so you will pay the full amount for the month regardless of when you activate the exchange within the month. We are not sure how long it will take you to get your broker account setup, but we only have 10 days left in March, so if you do not have the account setup as we approach the end of the month, you may want to consider waiting until the beginning of April to activate the exchange(s) you need. Also, the CME Group gives the first month for free, so that would give you all of April free data.
