Also make sure you are on Sierra Chart version 2480 or 2481 and that you have the most recent Stable release for TWS. Refer to the information at the following link: Notice: Recent Interactive Brokers TWS API Integration Issues For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hi, I tried following the instructions but I must be doing something wrong. I'm wondering if there is a global setting so that I can: 1) Just type in a symbol and have it look up the stock. For example, just typing AAPL instead of AAPL-NQTV, OR is it ok to just not type in the -NQTV additional text? 2) Have some 'Global' mapping set up so that the detailed 'Trade and Current Quote Symbol (Action)' just uses the prescribed format: [Stock Symbol]-STK-SMART-USD When I went into chart settings and made updates, it seems to just lock in the symbol so if I 'duplicate chart' it duplicates the same FNGU-STK-SMART-USD mapping. If I create a new chart, there is no mapping in the 'Use As Trade Only Symbol' section. The instructions also mention this: First Solution: In Chart >> Chart Settings, set the main symbol of the chart to the basic symbol like MSFT and set the Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trade and Current Quote Symbol setting for the chart to the more detailed symbol format. In this example, this would be MSFT-STK-SMART/NASDAQ. Refer to Trade and Current Quote Symbol. I know you guys are super busy. I apologize for bothering you about this. I think once I get this mapping sorted out it will be smooth sailing. Second Solution: Let Sierra Chart support know what the more detailed symbol format is and we will set up the proper mapping for that symbol. Contact us on the Support Board about this. I'm hoping there is a way to set this up so I don't have to type in a detailed map for every stock I look at one by one, instead I'd prefer to just have some global mapping setting so if I simply type in TQQQ, Sierra Chart knows to pull up TQQQ-NQTV and furthermore automatically applies the mapping [Stock Symbol]-STK-SMART-USD (TQQQ-STK-SMART-USD) with no need for me to go into chart settings for each new symbol and no need to look up what exchange the symbol is trading on (NASDAQ, AMEX or NYSE). |

First - you need to enter the stock symbol with the -NQTV suffix. Otherwise, you will not get the data from the NASDAQ TotalView exchange which you have paid for. Second, in order to setup mapping such that when you create a new chart, or change the symbol using certain functions (not changing by typing in the new name, but by selecting in Find Symbol, or changing through the Quote Board), you need to setup Symbol Settings for the stocks that you are going to use. Within the Symbol Settings, you can define the Trade and Current Quote Symbol to use. You would have to do this for each equity that you follow, but once setup you would not need to deal with it further. Refer to the following for how to edit the Symbol Settings: Global Symbol Settings: Instructions For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
