Hello SC:

I am not getting data unless I am connected to IB platform. e.g. if I log on to IB at 10am; I don't receive the data from 930am to 10am.
I recently subscribed to Denali data service and required permissions.
i have the latest IB platform software installed with nasdaq and nyse permissions.
i have downloaded the latest sierra version.
please help, thank you.

The first thing is that you are setup for the NASDAQ TotalView data. As such, you need to enter the symbol for the data with a -NQTV suffix (such as IBM-NQTV). Otherwise, if you use the standard symbol, the data will be coming from Interactive Brokers. Refer to the information here:

This will also require that you use the Trade and Current Quote Symbol option along with setting Use as Trade Only Symbol to Yes. The Trade and Current Quote Symbol will be the symbol that IB requires. Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu)
