Hi everyone.
I'm trying to decide on what language to learn to automate my strategies.
I want to know what the limitations are with Acsil and sierra chart that could stop me from being able to automate my strategy.
I usually use multi-timeframe combining timebased charts with range or renko charts. For example something along the lines of, 1 hour is making higher high, pullback to a demand level on 15 minute chart, buy a 5 tick renko engulfing...
I tried this on trading systems alert study and faced some limitations.
1- I cannot reference back to previous bars from another timeframe
2- I cannot reference previous zigzag high and lows to determine market structure break
3. I cannot create demand zones and use them as levels to trade from. For example, I would say a demand zone would be the body of a bearish bar before an engulfing bullish candle.

Is it worth investing the time to learn ASCIL? Will I face similar issues?

other alternative is to use another language and platform like tradestation or multicharts. Does anyone have experience in those platforms and would recommend it for multi timeframe automation?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Yes, 100%, if you need maximum flexibility designing your trading system.

Will I face similar issues?
No, the 3 items you've listed are certainly possible.
