when a workbook is open but running in the background, meaning it is not the active workbook, does the update frequency of the charts in the workbook have any impact on overall performance?

What a chart window is not visible, it does significantly reduce CPU usage. Chart drawing is the most CPU intensive thing in Sierra Chart.
