Hello, I have had my symbol alerts in alert manager wiped out of entries twice now. I had over 200 alerts each time and they just disappeared. I have sent my message log for your review. I consistently save and even have auto save on every 15 minutes in case I forget. But I'm not losing a few of the symbol alerts, I'm losing the whole list for some reason. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

The Message Log will not help with this. These alerts configurations are held in the Sierra4.config file. There are backups of this file: Resetting Sierra Chart to a Default State / Restoring Backup Global Configuration File: Restoring Backup Global Configuration File Restore backups of the configuration file and see if you can restore the Symbol Alerts that were lost. There definitely should not be any problem losing these. We have never heard of that before. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I followed this procedure exactly replacing the Sierra4.config file. Unfortunately when I reopen Sierra and go Window/Alert Manager/Symbol Alert the list is empty. My alerts have vanished

Well, it did work when I went back to the prior day's backup Sierra4.config file, just not today's backup. So I lost the alerts entered today. The others were restored. I still don't understand why I have lost all my alerts twice now though. How can I backup manually after I enter a bunch of alerts because today's backup backed up an empty alert manager? Trying to avoid this in the future. thanks!

You may have accidentally selected Edit >> Delete All Alerts. We will add a prompt. We think there used to be a prompt but someone complained. However, we will add that back. You can do a backup just by making a copy of Sierra4.config periodically. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Lost all my alerts again this morning. Can't isolate what is happening. I entered three new alerts. Then without me doing anything i pulled up the alert manager and noticed my three new alerts and then above that the columns were filled out (enabled, triggered, field, comparison, etc.) EXCEPT for the symbol column. The tickers were gone on all the hundreds of alerts above the three new ones i added. I then closed Sierra Charts and reopened hoping the alerts would still be in alert manager. But it is now a blank slate. No alerts. At least I can now reload the backup but there is something happening I don't understand. I was pretty sure I didn't accidentally select edit>>delete all alerts in the past two times this happened, but I know for sure I didn't do it today since I was mindful of that risk. Any help to solve this would be appreciated. Thank you!

Unfortunately I had to go back to 12.14.22 backup as well because today's backup and yesterday's backup, both backed up an empty list of alerts. So I lost probably 50 alerts I entered last night

So, I just noticed the sequence of steps that erases all my alerts from alert manager. I have two chartbooks, one for ES futures, one for stocks. When I accidentally enter a stock symbol in my ES chartbook, then enter symbol for current ES contract, then hit Edit/translate symbols to current service, at that point I look at my alert manager and the symbols are gone from the symbol alert section. I mean I can avoid doing that in the future, but why would this series of events corrupt my alerts?

That helps. We will fix this. We are not sure exactly what the problem is but we will check on this now.
