I noticed that the Unrealized balance for open trades do not always match between SC and Interactive Brokers TWS. I understand that there is a commission deducted on the IB side that accounts for the difference in each trade, but for some reason the amount of difference fluctuates during an open trade. For example if SC is showing -$50 then IB will show -$52 (because of the -$2 that is added by IB). So this I understand. However, even though there is a -$2 difference, this difference should should stay constant tick for tick and a -$2 difference should always remain between the two platforms. However, I've noticed that this difference varies and many times gets as wide as -$20+ dollars. I'm not sure how this is possible when they should both be moving tick for tick in sync and both platforms are showing the same entry price. Can someone please explain why this is occurring? Thank you/ |

What you are apparently referring to is the Open Position Profit/Loss. This is based upon the Position Average Price and how this is determined and how the Open Profit/Loss is calculated is explained here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TradeStatusWindows.html#HowAvgPricePositionsCalcUsed Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
