Drawings Randomly Moving Around and Changing Size

I trade MES and MNQ futures. I use mainly the market profile study.

On Monday, I rolled all my charts to the new H contract. I suspect this has something to do with it, because I never had this issue before. I frequently use the "Extending Rectangle" and "Horizontal Line" to mark out areas of interest. Ever since Monday, these drawings change size, and move randomly a few ticks up or down. When I'm done for the day, I Save All and shut down. The next morning when I fire up Sierra, the drawings have moved, or changed size. Just by a few ticks, but it's very annoying. It seems to affect EVERY drawing on the profile, even stuff I put on there months ago, important levels, single prints, etc. I have dozens and dozens of things marked out. It's a huge hassle to try and fix them all.

Any idea what is causing this? It's driving me nuts.

Thanks

The Chart Drawings themselves are not moving. That is not something that should be happening. The underlying data must be changing.

Check the price bars themselves, or wherever these drawings are placed, to see if the data they are drawn on is changing.

How can the price be changing? It's data that has already been downloaded. Does SC repeatedly download data that has already been downloaded?

I will investigate further and see what I can find. In the meantime, can you suggest anything at all that may have to do with contract roll?

If they are drawn on price bars, normally there should not be a change but in the case of a Continuous Futures Contract chart that is back adjusted, the prices can change.

I am including a screen shot of the TPO profile study I am using.

I just had this happen again right this moment. You are correct - the drawings are not moving. What is moving is the ENTIRE PROFILE, by 1 tick. This morning I wrote down the level of one batch of the single prints from 12/13 on /MES - they run from 4072.50 to 4068.50. The drawing did not move, but the entire profile shifted down by one tick. Now the single prints shown by the profile run from 4072.25 to 4068.25 - one tick different than the last time I loaded this chart.

See attached screenshot.

This is not consistent. One day it shifts up by a tick, the next day it may shift down by a tick or two.

Thoughts?

I am having this exact same issue, became a problem after the contract rollover. I have tried switching Continuous Futures Contract - Date Rule Rollover, Back Adjusted. That worked for a day, now my drawings and levels adjust every day without fail. I've tried deleting and redownloading all data, that didn't help. This wasn't a problem for about 2 years so it leads me to think that this is a recent issue.

If you are still having an issue with this today, then let us know.

We believe the issue of what you were seeing was that due to how the dates fell, our definition for when the rollover occurred was later than when most people rolled over. As such, if you rolled over earlier last week, then your charts would continuously update such that the current contract would only start on the current day, and the previous contracts would be used for the older data. This would give you different results for the back-adjusted data.

Our internal rollover date was then last Thursday, so after that the rollover day should be locked in, so it will not adjust each day.
