Went to add to my existing short position, placed a Limit Order on the sell side and instead of adding to my short position it closed out the trade. The activity log said it was a buy, this has happened to me a few time. It has never happened on the buy side, ever. Can you please help |

How are you entering that order? You will need to look at the options for how you are entering it and make sure it is set to be a 'short' and not a 'long'.

I watched it closed the trade, I was currently in a live short trade and I had pre-set the short sell, just to average in.

The first thing to do is to look through the Trade Activity Log to follow the trail of what occurred. You will be able to see the orders entered and if anything changed, it will tell you what changed and why, or if the order was put in as a Buy rather than a Sell.
